The End

Together again, dancing with the angels…

And just like that she’s gone. An entire chapter closed, never to reopen. No, more than that; a book, a novel. We can revisit it, but parts have disappeared and already begun to fade.

They fade not because she is already being forgotten, but because memories are made stronger when remembered by two or more. They fade because we would story tell together, reminisce, fill in each other’s gaps, the letters getting harder to read.

No, someone so significant could never be forgotten. Though her book is now complete and will not be added to, her character has made many appearances in other stories. These have all been touched by her, influenced in some way.

Her book was a great one. Though we knew the end was coming, we could see it, we never wanted it to come. It didn’t matter that it had been long, or that the end wasn’t as active or involved, we never wanted to let go of it. We never want to.

This was not the ending any of us had expected, it surprised us all. No one imagined this sudden twist of cancer at 103. But here we are, and the book has gently closed its cover.

She lives on in our own books, in memories and influence. Her touch of love has not gone without making a difference in our lives, affecting what we do. She was a strong woman, a character we all loved to see.

And with the last peaceful breath she took, her story finished, well written and well loved.

Grandma, your light may have gone out, but your glow still remains…

  1. Sorry for your loss Sandra, for the whole family’s loss of a remarkable woman and a life well lived. 103 yrs old, wow, what a great achievement that is, and all the wonderful things she has seen in her lifetime. May she rest in a well deserved sleep and her soul is now reunited with her husband’s soul and together may they be in peace for all eternity. What wonderful memories you all have of her and will cherish all the years to come.

  2. Absolutely perfectly beautiful. Well written, much love and respect. I cried reading it. 🙏🏻♥️🎶 📚 📖
